August is the month when the country and faith communities commemorate National HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on August 27. It is a day when faith communities come together to fight for freedom and justice to end HIV-related stigma and discrimination.

This is the month of Faith and Health, but also the month of our Director of Programs birthday, please join us to wish Emilio Apontesierra-Paretti, M.Ed a very happy birth month celebration. He is our director of program and a multidisciplinary artist that uses his art for community mobilization towards health awareness and HIV Stigma reduction. As an artist, he is working with faith communities across the southeast of the United States using Under my Skin, his personal art project, for HIV stigma reduction. We are mentioning it because we have good news to share during this month of faith and Health. Emilio is leading our Faith and Health initiative to address the need for access to health services within faith communities. Arte y Cultura is a program for the family and there we provide access to health services including Health insurance.
