September is ending and the change of season is happening. In this month comes autumn, the season of the year between summer and winter during which temperatures gradually decrease. It is often called fall in the United States because the leaves fall from the trees at that time. Depending on the time of year changes may be experienced in the body. Fatigue, irregular sleep hours, or even anxiety or Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) which is a type of depression can be some of the problems that come with the different seasons of the year. During the fall there can be a sense of fear because the flu season is near, and there is a fear of contracting it. It’s time for the flu vaccine. Seasonal influenza, also known as the flu, is a disease that can lead to serious complications that require hospitalization and can even cause death. People often don’t recognize its severity, mistaking it for a cold.

Many say that summer is the season of ruptures, and that autumn promotes union. This month there are more singles available who, encouraged by the conjunction of climatological and hormonal factors of autumn, start a new relationship. Researchers Jackson Gorham and Andrew T. Fiore, experts in Social Communication, followed up on Facebook and the conclusion was: in autumn romances increase with the same force as during the days before valentine’s day.

In this month when autumn begins, days related to sexual health are commemorated. One date is September 18 when National HIV and AIDS and Aging Awareness Day was commemorated, a day to combat stigma and address challenges related to aging and HIV testing, prevention, and care. September 27 marks National Gay and Bisexual Men HIV and AIDS Awareness Day, a day to help stop HIV stigma and promote testing, prevention, and treatment among this group.

Doctors and experts emphasize healthy eating when it comes to ending the effects of seasonal and schedule changes. The diet must be varied and balanced, rich in vitamins, fiber, and with the necessary proteins. Getting a good night’s sleep, exercising, and taking advantage of hours of natural light for outdoor activities are also important.
