The program “Designated Players” by High Impacto and FAN Network TV was recognized with third place at the PrEPpy Awards, an honor that highlights the most innovative and effective HIV prevention campaigns at the community level.
The PrEPpy Awards recognize outstanding HIV prevention campaigns that put the community at the center and reflect the diversity of populations affected by HIV.
Expanding PrEP Access Through Digital Platforms
Effective HIV prevention depends on meeting communities where they are. Today, that community engagement must include digital spaces. In line with the primary goal of the Biomedical HIV Prevention Summit, to expand PrEP access in communities of color, the PrEPpy Awards recognize community-based organizations that utilize digital marketing, especially social media, to translate HIV prevention information into accessible, engaging, and culturally relevant content.
Investing in Social Media Leaders
Through the fifth edition of the PrEPpy Awards, NMAC invests in existing social media campaigns that are generating a measurable impact on HIV prevention. These awards seek to strengthen and amplify initiatives that play a fundamental role in:
-
Combating misinformation.
-
Reducing stigma.
-
Ensuring communities have the necessary knowledge to protect their health.
The PrEPpy Awards specifically recognize bilingual campaigns that reflect the linguistic diversity of the communities most affected by HIV.
